Drive in High Winds

Listen to radio for changing weather conditions that could become more dangerous.
Slow down when driving near large vehicles like trucks and buses. These vehicles can rotate and hit your car if the wind picks up suddenly.
Make the corrections steering when driving a protection to the unprotected area. This is because the wind can move your car with a sudden force after being in the protected area.
Slow down the speed of your car to minimize the wind affect your vehicle.
Be aware of other vehicles around you in high winds. This is especially true with RVs, campers, trucks, buses, trailers or towed.
Driving in high winds can be dangerous and even more dangerous because of other weather conditions that normally accompany them. Extreme caution must be used when driving a car in any type of severe weather.
